The hubby and I had some dinner and drinks with good friends on Monday. We made some spiced wine as an apéritif that was so warm and delicious... perfect for the blustery, rainy day we had that day! Here are the directions to make your own:
~1 Quart of Burgundy Wine
~3 Heaping Spoonfuls of Honey
~Juice from 1 Orange
~2 Cinnamon Sticks
~1 Satchel of Mulling Spices (check out Williams Sonoma stores)
~ Heat on Stovetop and Serve!
Then we headed over to Kous Kous in Hillcrest for dinner. If you haven't been there yet, you absolutely MUST try it! On Mondays and Wednesdays, all wine by the bottle is half off! They serve marinated carrots and olives as a small starter and we also got little tasters of the B’stilas and a sampler of all of their dips with pita... all divine! The hubby got our friends hooked on his fave, the Lamb Tagine. I absolutely love the stuffed tomatoes with cous cous... and loved it even more for a lunch treat on Tuesday;) If you don't believe me, check out their stellar reviews on Yelp!
