This is going to spoil the surprise for some people, but I am buying some of my eco-conscious girlfriends Baggu shopping totes.  They fold up into tiny squares and can easily be thrown into your purse or glove box:

Finally, there's my go-to present for eco-friendly kids, adopting an endangered animal species through the World Wildlife Federation.  For $50, kids get a plush version of their animal, an adoption certificate, species info card, a photo and a gift bag!  SO much better than buying them any old stuffed animal!
