I just got some fresh new focals (not a word but the alliteration works) today after my trusty old pair was tragically stolen from my car. It brought me back to 6th grade when I got my first pair of glasses. They made me look like Sally Jesse Raphael and I hated them so I never wore them. I wasn't itsy bitsy by any means in 6th grade (try 6'4'' and 80 pounds) but I might have been more likely to wear my glasses if I had been able to jazz it up with some Betsy Johnson frames~
I'm really happy to know that if my kids have "messed up eyes" (my optometrist said this) because of me, at least they'll have some fun options to get them through grade school. On second thought, it's going to take them a lot more than a cute pair of glasses to get through grade school. I might have to revert back to my original plan of making them live in a bubble until they're 27.
