Monthly Amazon Picks: January 2010
Once upon a time I had a great idea to hand pick some great books once a month a feature them on the left side of the page and in this "monthly" feature. I managed to do it
once. I guess I just came up with a New Year's Resolution for my blog. I swear I'm going to attempt to do this on a monthly basis.
Cookbook: I've been really dying to buy I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence by the hilarious and talented Amy Sedaris. If you're a fan of Strangers With Candy or you fell in love with her house via Design*Sponge, you'll probably heart this book loads. Maybe you've even read it by now because it's been out for like 3 years... clearly I'm a little behind in my reading.
Interior Design: I miss Top Design. Though Todd Oldham was a little dull, Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler were more than enough to cancel out the monotone! Sigh. Kelly Wearstler's new book, Hue, looks amazing. I mean, I'm in love with the chairs on the cover and that's before even opening the book!
Coffee Table: My lovely friend, Araby, got me Gypset Style: Jet Set + Gypsy = Gypset by Julia Chaplin for Christmas. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm such a bohemian jet-setter... in my dreams. Gypsetters are Gypsy/Jet-Setters, which include Jade Jagger and Devendra Banhart. The photos in the book are gorgeous and make me want to sail to Morocco and lounge on a beach with Rufus and Dusty while braiding my fictional daughter's hair. See what I mean?
and this could totally be Dusty and me~
I guess until we win the lotto (which we don't play) or buy a sail boat, I'll just admire this on my coffee table!
