Around Town: Palm Springs Getaway

I am obsessed with Palm Springs.  I have visions of retiring there (tomorrow) to live like the Golden Girls (I'm Dorothy) with a live-in handyman played by Dusty.  Until that glorious moment arrives, I'll take it in the small doses that I can get it.  Dusty and I ventured to the dry desert town, stuck in time, for our anniversary last weekend.  We stayed at the Ace Hotel, where dogs are welcome and there's a photobooth in the lobby.  We never even left the premises since there was a restaurant, bar, spa and pool all within 20 feet of our room.  I didn't snap too many photos because I was too busy relaxing.  I did, however, have to steal a photo of this wall so that I can replicate it via Dusty building me these shelves:

And then this had to happen too:

I highly recommend even a one-night jaunt to the Ace Hotel.  My sister and I went last summer in July and it was about 5 million degrees out but we'd basically sit by the pool for 30 minutes, sit IN the pool for 30 minutes and then run into the air conditioning to take a nap for 30 minutes.  rinse.  repeat.  What I'm saying is that even though the weather is perfect right now for the Springs, it's not too late to go in summer too... you'll just have to get creative to not get a heat stroke.  It is really the perfect San Diego/Los Angeles getaway.
