For Your Listening Enjoyment: A 4th of July Battle
A long time ago (234 years ago to be exact -- thanks
Araby!) we defeated the British to create freedom for America. British vs. Americans. I like that idea. Here's my own British vs. American battle: 70s Judas Priest vs. Black Sabbath w/ Dio (that's the American catch -- with DIO!) So I am pitting these two against each other because Judas Priest transitioned metal from its early stages of far-out-Deep-Purple-far-out-graphics-in-the-background-Black-Sabbath-velvet-bell-bottom-metal to what it became in the 80s. Not to mention that Rob Halford totally was able to incorporate gay S&M culture into millions of metal-loving teenagers lives without them knowing it was happening. So that's the British side. Then we have Black Sabbath with Dio. I've already told you how much
I love me some RJD. I still can't believe he's gone. Dio has a killer metal voice and was not only a godfather of metal but transitioned Black Sabbath from the 70s into the 80s. Let the battle begin~
(funny to see Rob Halford like that, right?!)
(RJD wails!)
So who wins?!
If I have time today, I'll post more battles. I like this idea.
