Last week, we talked about Orange and Park and their fantastic prints. If you haven't purchased on yet, you are crazy. This week, I'm going to show off the house of one of the artists, David. The casa, located in downtown San Diego's East Village, takes up the corner of a two-story 1940s-era industrial building. In 2001, noted local architect/developer Jonathan Segal gutted and seismically-reinforced the building before dividing it into seven live/work lofts. With a compact square footprint, the home's 820-square feet is divided between an open kitchen and living room (plus bathroom) downstairs, and a loft upstairs that is roomy enough for a queen-sized platform bed and four full-size closet units. A wing off the sleeping area provides a crucial nook for a home office that accommodates two. It's bright, airy, open and clean. I am kind of jealous.
