Art Garfunkel has a Masters in Mathematics and completed coursework toward his PhD. He also played himself in one of my favorite episodes of Flight of the Conchords.

Brian May of Queen has a PhD in Astrophysics. Oh and he also built his famous guitar, the Red Special, when he was 16. Slacker.

Greg Graffin of Bad Religion is not only the king of fitting as many big words as one possibly can into a song under two minutes, but he also has a PhD in Zoology and is a professor at UCLA.
