Around Town // Drive In Movies
Last weekend we soaked up the last few drops of summer by hitting the drive-in movies. The movies were terrible (Apollo 18 & Our Idiot Brother) but it was super fun to be outside and to have our own little movie kit. We had everything we needed so I pulled together a packing list in case you feel inspired to do the same before it's too chilly!
Drinks: We packed IZZE sodas and a bottle of Lambrusco (the best!)
Food: Whole Foods takeout is easy peasy and is already packaged up, ready to eat! We also got a bag of kettle corn, a bag of cheesy popcorn and some vegan cookies. All bomb.
For Comfort: A stack of mexican blankets gave us some cushion
For Warmth: Our Pendleton blanket kept us cozy!
We packed it all up in a Moroccan beach basket, threw it in the back of the Bronco and were on our way...
P.S. If you're in San Diego and want to hit the drive-in, Santee is probably your safest bet (literally... I've heard the Chula Vista one can be a little dicey!) They play oldies on the radio station before the movies start and the concession commercials are vintage originals so you really feel like you're living in this movie scene.

(not Dusty's Bronco but I don't have a good, clean photo of ours so this one will do -- same year, original color!) |
