RAD REAL ESTATE // THE CHAPMAN ESTATE

A dear friend of my grandma's passed away about a year ago.  She was super sweet and very artistic.  Dusty and I had the pleasure of going to the symphony with my grandma and her on a couple of occasions.  Once we dropped her off afterward at her home on Mt. Helix and got a tour of her AMAZING mid-century home.  We talked about it for weeks and it's still one of the coolest, most artistic and original (and intact) mid-century homes we've ever seen.  A couple of weeks ago in the Modern San Diego newsletter, I saw a listing for a home that looked very familiar -- it was my grandma's friend, Jane Chapman's home.  The newsletter featured images from the January 1959 issue of House Beautiful magazine that showcased she and her husband, Chappy's home.  I thought I'd share those images here so we can all appreciate what a rad place it is/was.  I'm not sure if the house is still on the market but if you happen to be interested, you can email Keith over at Modern San Diego.  I'd love it if someone bought the house who would appreciate it for it's current condition and not gut it to "modernize" it.
