This weekend, instead of participating in the Super Bowl hoopla, I got to spend the day at the San Diego Opera with my grandma. We went to see La Boheme and it was AMAZING. I am so addicted now! I seriously left there with a desperate need to buy season tickets. La Traviata is the next performance on my list to see now, which is coming up in April. I love the dramatic sound of Italian love... and death. People are always dying at the opera and it is always dramatic like the "Stella" scene in A Streetcar Named Desire. Sighhh.. tortured romance. The point of all of this is that San Diego really has an amazing art scene and it would do us all well to support it. Go out and get some culture, wouldya?
